Tunisia is often said to be the Arab Springs only success story, yet the new year has been marked by economic peril and political uncertainty. The governments announcement of an austerity budget has led to the largest wave of protests the country has seen during its democratic transition. Hundreds of Tunisians have been arrested by security forces since January 8. In this weeks MENA Salon we will discuss the recent unrest in Tunisia, and whether or not the government is fulfilling obligations set out under its post-Revolution constitution.
