Hannah Ellis is a third year undergraduate student at the University of California Berkeley majoring in Political Science and minoring in Arabic. She is very interested in the intersection of religion and human rights especially in regard to women and hopes to work in a related field when she graduates. She is also an intern in the Human Rights Investigations Lab at Berkeley Law. She has lived in both Jordan and Saudi Arabia. As a 2017 Stevens Scholar, Hannah will be spending the summer in Jordan enrolled in a three-month intensive Arabic Program in Amman. She plans to write a senior thesis on the connections between Islam, feminism, and family law.
