The coronavirus pandemic and enduring refugee crisis have highlighted the impact of climate change, food insecurity, and access to healthcare and housing across the Middle East and North Africa. From Lebanons unprecedented wildfires in 2019 to water scarcity amidst the ongoing war in Yemen, countries in the region are tasked with confronting the effects of climate change in addition to the challenges posed by conflict, economic precarity, and political upheaval. Please join us for our first MENA Salon of the year as we discuss climate change and environmental movements from Algeria to Yemen and the Levant.
