American Institute of Maghrebi Studies Research Grants

The American Institute for Maghrib Studies (AIMS) offers grants to U.S. scholars to conduct research on North African topics in Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco, or Tunisia. AIMS Overseas Research Centers in Oran, Tunis, and Tangier facilitate AIMS grants and support AIMS scholars. AIMS funds only primary research conducted in the Maghrib.

Center for Arabic Study Abroad (CASA) Fellowships

The Cente for Arabic Study Abroad (CASA) is a consortium of U.S. universities committed to supporting the study of Arabic by American students and faculty. Currently hosted by the University of Arizona, it offers fellowships to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty members, to conducted research or coursework in Amman, Jordan and Meknes, Morocco.

Andrew Mellon Foundation Conference & Research Grants

Andrew Mellon Foundation grants cover the cost of travel for conference presentations, modern Middle Eastern language study, dissertation research, or faculty projects.

The Sultan Program in Arab Studies

The Sultan Program in Arab Studies supports teaching, research, and public outreach on topics related to the Arab and Arab-Islamic world, with the overarching goal of promoting a deeper understanding of this important region at UC Berkeley and beyond. Grants are awarded to support graduate and undergraduate research, and other scholarly initiatives.

The Al-Falah Program in Islamic Studies

The Al-Falah Program in Islamic Studies support research, teaching, and outreach projects that focus on building academic and cultural bridges between the United States and the Middle East and broader Islamic world.
