Annual CMES Lecture in Kurdish Studies

The CMES Annual Lecture in Kurdish Studies will be given by an exceptional scholar of Kurdish languages, culture, and/or history.  We welcome nominations (or self-nominations) from a wide range of disciplines within the humanities, social sciences, and professional schools, or in some cases, a combination of different disciplines.  Lectures will be given once a year at UC Berkeley.  Please send nominations (or self-nominations) to the attention of the CMES Chair Asad Ahmed (cmes@berkeley.edu) no later than December 1 (nominations will be reviewed on an ongoing basis up until the deadline):

  • 200 Word Abstract with a proposed lecture topic
  • CV
  • Letter of nomination (or self-nomination)
