Bio/CV:
Laila Riazi is a doctoral student in the Department of Comparative Literature pursuing a Designated Emphasis in Critical Theory. Her dissertation explores poetic modernism in the Middle East as a form and reappraisal of revolutionary thought. She works across English, French, Arabic, and Persian. She is an award-winning translator and previously served as co-organizer of the Townsend Center working group on Psychoanalysis, editor for Qui Parle, and assistant to the Berkeley Psychoanalytic Society.
