CMES-IBA Karachi Summer School

The Center for Middle Eastern Studies (CMES) at the University of California, Berkeley, USA, and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, Pakistan, are offering an intensive summer program in reading Arabic texts. The aim of the program is to train advanced students in some of the foundational texts of the Dars-e Nizāmī and to do so from within a decolonizing humanities framework.

The program is cosponsored by the American Society of Islamic Philosophy and Theology.

  • a 500-word narrative about your current research stage and project, level of training in Arabic, and how this program will help your future work

  • a brief statement confirming your ability to secure roundtrip transportation to Karachi and relevant formal documents. Please also indicate any level of financial need related to travel.
