Mathew Madain

Mathew Madain is a fourth-year undergraduate at UC Berkeley majoring in Global Studies, History, and Arabic. He is a research assistant to two professors, exploring Byzantine-Arab relations and contemporary counter violent extremism policy. His upcoming research project explores inter-religious relations in the Middle East. He has participated in student diplomacy trips to the Middle East and South Caucasus and is active in the Cal Rotaract International Service Committee. He has also served as the External Vice President of Sigma Iota Rho Honors Society for International Area Studies and as a member of the student advisory board of the Olive Tree Initiative.
