Hassan Rezakhany

Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures

Hassan is a doctoral candidate of the intellectual history in Arabic and Persian. He has been chosen for a highly-selective multi-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland.  During the postdoctoral years, Hassan will be investigating the reception of Avicenna's thought in Nasir al-Din al-Tusi's Tajrid al-i'tiqad (a 13th c. work primarily on metaphysics) and its subsequent commentary tradition.  Hassan is also putting finishing touches on a monograph on al-Hilli's logic work, al-Jawhar al-nadid, which will be published by al-Mahdi Institute.  His dissertation engages the history of paradoxes in the Arabo-Islamic logic tradition.
